2011 From Google
Google has also started reviewing what 2011 was. Personally, I think Google did a great job with this video. They reviewed what happened in 2011 while promoting their influences on the internet. Bringing the internet culture into today culture.
Every year google also shows the top searches of the year at Google Zeitgeist. Surprisingly and sadly, the top search is Rebecca Black. I am glad to say I have never seen the video. Then, Apple made 3 of the top 10 searches this year, not surprisingly. Google+ makes it to number 2 but with not much use from the general public.
Google has made huge changes this year. Reorganizing their company in a big way. Entering the social networking business with Google+. Changing video chatting with hangouts. Changing the layout of much of their products including YouTube, Google search, Gmail, and more. Buying a startup at a rate about one a week; With big buys including Motorola and Zagat. Google had a great year with Android besides the legal suits with Apple; resulting in a patent shopping spree. The presence and influence of Google has jumped another level this year.
This is what is in store for us in 2012 from Google. Eric Schmidt has said most of the televisions by summer 2012 will have GoogleTV in them. Finally! (I predicted this previously, no more boxes!) The effort of Google+ will be even bigger especially the push with mobile advantages it has on Facebook. Hopefully, Google continues to concentrate on increasing efficiency of their searches. They'll also push Google Wallet and try getting that mainstream. I'm excited for what's to come!
