2014 Taxes
I would like to announce to all my readers that my federal and state taxes for 2014 have been filed. As with last year, I filed with Turbo Tax despite all of the terrible publicity on their edition/version confusion. For someone that reads up on something before purchasing, I had no problem with the Turbo Tax edition I had ordered, but it was nice of Intuit (the makers of Turbo Tax) to offer $25 for the "confusion". I don't know why so many people get worried and stressed about doing taxes; it's so simple. (Though, I still think the government could probably do it automatically)
While having my information filled in through past years with Turbo Tax and importing tax information through my bank logins is nice, the best part about filing with Turbo Tax is definitely the option of having a portion of my tax refund go into an Amazon gift card and receive an extra 10% on it. I know that it's money that belonged to me in the first place but it feels extra special like finding money in your pocket after washing your pants; and that extra 10% is sensational. (It took about 10 days to actually get my return deposited into my bank account after submitting them)
So, this is your MatthewTWHuang.com reminder to do your taxes!
