3 Rivers Festival

Of all the festivals held in the summer, 3 Rivers is probably the most significant of all; it is certainly the most celebrated. Fort Wayne is the city of three rivers. The celebration starts with a race then a parade and continues for a week. Tonight, it ends with a fireworks show. I helped volunteer with my Little Friend at the festival. I noticed a few things:
Food is extremely unhealthy and overpriced. There is a section known as Junk Food Alley... Anything can be fried.
Giving samples convinced more potential customers to buy than I had previously expected.
Carnival rides are crazy expensive. $5 for a ride on the spinning swings?! That's worse than amusement park prices with some safety compromised.
I'm not sure anything can make a kid happier than giving them an inflated balloon.
Parking in Downtown Fort Wayne is ridiculous easy even during its busiest times. Suckers pay for parking in Fort Wayne.
One of the signature events of Three Rivers Festival is the river raft race. I enjoyed myself watching home-built rafts go down the river for almost a hour; it was calming.
