Aaron Sorkin

Aaron Sorkin: Screenwriter for movies (including Moneyball and The Social Network) and television shows including The West Wing, Sports Night, Studio 60, and more recently, The Newsrooms. As you all know, I'm a huge admirer of The West Wing; I recently finished the entire series and I must say the first and last few seasons were stunning.
As with The West Wing, Sports Night, and Studio 60, Aaron Sorkin takes on a story to immerse the viewer in a specific industry, news broadcasting, in The Newsroom. Though the first season of The Newsroom is inconsistent from the rest of his shows in that he used only real story lines for the fictional news broadcast to present. But in the second episode of the second season, he seems to inserting a fictional news story; here is the what we have come to expect from Sorkin: the mixture of reality and fiction. With the news stories in hindsight in the show, Sorkin definitely takes a interesting take to develop his own show and characters. The hour long show goes by extremely fast.
So what should he take on after The Newsroom? I would personally be fascinated to see Wall Street be depicted on the tele by Aaron Sorkin. Though, as a friend mentioned, it may be difficult to create the idealistic character type that Sorkin loves to develop in that particular industry (and have the combination of reality and fiction too).
Those who hate idealistic, romantic, and speech-filled shows, Aaron Sorkin's television shows may not be for you. Personally, I have been enthralled with numerous of his character which often has a negative effect when the actors play a different role (e.g. Toby Ziegler saved the Earth in Man of Steel and Martin Sheen will always be President Bartlet).
