Apple Falls?

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Apple. They had to deal with hacking of their iCloud just a week before their iPhone and Apple Watch (iWatch) announcement. Last Friday, they saw a burst of demand for the larger iPhone 6 Plus and couldn't meet the demand; it seemed like stores had one or two of them, if any at all. Now that some people got their hands on the thinly built phone, people are seeing that the phone bends (even in front pockets). Hardware issues are much tougher to find solutions for than software issues; Apple did come through the antenna issue in the iPhone 4, but that was solved with free bumpers... Can you solve the bend with cases?... Will they replace those that are already bent?
The iOS 8 update seemed to go smoothly as it usually does (i.e. slow download because everyone is trying to update at one time). But now there seems to be issues with WiFi and performance on legacy phones (even the iPhone 5). I understand that this happens with other software releases but this is not something we expect from Apple. iOS 8 is compatible with previous iPhone (to the 4S), that's about 3 years of updates for the iPhone 4S; that's unheard of in the Android universe.
Is Apple's reputation ruined? The main explanation for people using Apple is "It just works"; will these issues change the opinion of consumers? How will Apple come out?
Issac Newton felt the apple fall down on his head (or so the story goes). Ironically, Apple's Newton (a PDA) didn't have to fall since it was never a successful product.
Update: Apple released and now pulled back iOS 8.0.1 due to phone losing cellular service. Some people are also saying purple tiny in their photos but it seems like a software issue. But this is a huge hit on the camera reputation.
