Credit card companies are advertising Apple Pay like it's never been done before. But mobile payments have been available for years now on Android. It's going to be another to revive mobile payments and it seems that Apple has tons of support behind it. I'll happily put up with people thinking Apple inventing mobile payments as long as I can tap to pay everywhere and can leave my wallet at home.
I used Google Wallet on my phone to buy something at Walgreens and was met with the surprised reaction from the young cashier. She proceeded to ask if it was the iPhone 6. Of course I said no truthfully in my newly acquired Midwesterner manners. Then, she told me that the iPhone 6 could do that. I assume she's an Apple user since Apple user have a natural sense of being defensive about their products. This probably comes with the history of Apple and being an underdog. But they are certainly a powerhouse unlike no other in hardware and software.
