Beep..........Beep

Last night, I was awoken by the disastrous beep of a smoke detector with a low battery at 5 in the morning. Luckily for me, the smoke detector wasn't on the ceiling but on my desk. Before you say it's dangerous for me to not have it there, let me explain why it's not: Being in a small apartment, I remove one of the two smoke detector while cooking because it's bound to go off (especially with the high heat of a cast iron). And I leave the door open and the smoke detectors are right next to each other (as seen above) so I'm not endangering myself by having one smoke alarm on my desk.

It's interesting how short beeps at an interval can be so effective at being annoying; even irritating enough to wake a heavy sleeper like myself. Being the youngest child in my family, I'm quite the expert of being annoying and I have yet to figure a method of being more annoying than that dang low battery smoke detector. Please let me know if you know of something as or more annoying but not as obvious.
