Big Day!

Today is the big day!
No, I'm not talking about how Notre Dame is to join the ACC. With the Notre Dame leaving the Big East (even though they are in the Midwest anyways), it leaves UConn in a tough situation. As I wrote on this blog last year, I still believe the best thing for UConn to do is to join the ACC just as Notre Dame has today. It may be necessary in order to stay relevant in football and remain a top powerhouse in college basketball. If UConn does join the ACC, the ACC would be a ridiculous basketball league.
Today is also not the big day because of the Apple announcement. Apple's iPhone 5 was just as speculated with no surprises. With Apple becoming more popular than ever, it's no surprise that rumors will arise and some will be spot-on. What was unexpected was the new iPods, especially the nano (which looks like a iPhone mini without any wireless communication). The iPod Touch is once again alike the iPhone with the phone part, just as the first generation was. The best part of the announcement, the "Lightning" port or the new 9-pin connector because it's reversible meaning there isn't really a "wrong" way to plug it in. That's a huge problem with Micro-USB.
Today is the big day where I'm finally taking the plunge and upgrading to Mountain Lion OS. Of course, I backed up my computer. But I forgot since it is a download install, I have to wait for the download with much anxiety and excitement in me. I have been conflicted with the decision to upgrade since I have a Macbook Pro from 2007 which is the oldest MBP that can handle Mountain Lion. But how can it go wrong? My computer explodes spontaneously and I have to get a new computer. Big whoop. But I did get rid of my Windows 7 partition! Many may say this was a terrible decision but I don't remember the last time I used it (Probably for senior design). I think it was a good decision in order to get more storage!
I'll update this once I update my OS... Wish me luck!
Update:

Upgrade complete and successful! All the default applications are different and I will get used to the appearance. I'm excited to play this Mountain Lion! And with this upgrade, I also fully transitioned to Google Chrome; it was about time...
