Casualties of the Cold

It's no surprise, it's cold outside (and going to get colder). The temperatures are low enough to have cancelled school for the majority of January with the combination of snow. Everyone's television viewing is a bit stretched due to the seemingly perpetual cancellations with this winter. Parents and even the children want to go back to school. Parents are sick of their children at home and the children are sick of their parents. For some families, school provides them with a safe shelter and food that parents cannot provide while their at work. For me? It's an easier commute to work!
The cold weather has taken over all other news stories. Whether that be the removal of the Indiana Constitutional ban of gay marriages in HJR-3, the State of the Union is tomorrow night, or most critical of them all, the fact that it's nearly impossible to handle keys with Spyder gloves on. At least it may have reduced Bieber talk! How did you miss this story?!
But I did feel my first casualty of this winter. It served for two great years and it never complained while doing its function perfectly. While I always felt the feeling of dread when I needed it, it was always there for me. While trying to use my ice scraper to remove the frozen-hard ice that had accrued around my tires over the past few days (maybe even longer), it finally gave in and snapped.

In all seriousness, it's dangerously cold out there and slippery. There have been numerous accidents including flipped cars. Be careful! Be safe!
