Chi-talian

So the other night was suppose to be trivia night but it was unexpectedly cancelled. I was quite saddened by this news since I'm a huge fan of trivia. I take pride in never leaving trivia without a prize! But the cancellation of trivia left us with starvation for food and no idea where to go. My doppelganger desired somewhere new, which in my head I agreed. He previously mentioned a restaurant that served Chinese and Italian food.
Intrigued by the combination, Chi-talian, I went to the Internet to read reviews on the restaurant. The name was The Orange Garden, again a mix of the two ethnicities. One review was:
"Best crab rangoon in town! One chef w/many years in a Chicago Italian retaurant, one w/many years @ House of Hunan. Huge portions, incredible variety, service was professional. We'll be going back, and will be recomending this place enthusiastically."
If you know me at all, you know I'm a lover of crab rangoons. And with a chef from a decent Chinese place here in Fort Wayne, it must be decent. I was quite anxious to go to this place.
We decided to go the other night and we drove up to this:

For those who don't immediately see what's wrong here, it's a old Burger King! They built over the structure of a Burger King, and yes, the drive-thru is still in service! This immediately decreased my anxiousness to eat here. Then, we walked in the place and it was as expected from condition of the exterior.
The menu, pictured above, had Chinese symbols and Italian on it. Inside, the menu was split with Chinese Cuisine in the front and Italian Cuisine in the back. And to add it to the mix, they were even more diverse with Mexican beer!
Now to the important parts, service and food. First the service, the waitress was nice but there was a slight accident where the drinks were dropped and spilled. I ordered my safety choice, beef and broccoli, and I have to get the "Best crab rangoons in town". The crab rangoon didn't take too long to arrive to our table. They were shaped in a triangle and of the thicker shell. The filling was more cream cheese than I like. So overall, just an average crab rangoon even in the town of Fort Wayne. Then, after waiting for probably too long, my beef and broccoli arrived. This, also, was an average dish, maybe a bit below average. The wait may have affect that review though. The broccoli was not crisp at all, it seemed to be overly steams. The portions were a decent size though.
I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, but everyone in our party, including myself, didn't feel too well after the meal. Luckily, I don't think anyone was actually sick. Flatulence was an issue for me for about a half hour after eating (It was probably the crab rangoons and my semi-lactose intolerance). All of us got Chinese food, besides a order of bread sticks with marinara sauce (Yum, marinara sauce with fried rice!). My final verdict is a 5/10, the restaurant didn't impress me in anyway. The atmosphere, or the lack of, and length of waiting just didn't meet my standards. Maybe the Italian part in the Chi-talian restaurant is the better half...
