I finally took the plunge and bought a Chromebook! Poor 7 year old Macbook Pro must feel sad that it's no longer the only laptop in the family but happy that it won't heat up every night. Not to mention that I'll update it more often instead of choosing to "Try Later". I purchased the Dell Chromebook 11 after looking at Chromebook selection; the Pixel would have been nice but the price (over $1k) is definitely too steep. "Dude, you're getting a Dell!"
It is a solid piece of hardware and not cheap feeling like the HP Chromebook. I never expected to buy a Dell and didn't even know Dell made a Chromebook until just last week. The keys of the keyboard are extremely crisp and extremely enjoyable to type on.
In terms of use, the boot up time is incredible especially compared to my 2007 Macbook Pro. Transition to Chrome OS was painless for me since I have already completely bought into the Google sphere. The estimated ten hours of battery life will easily surpass the maximum 20 minutes I'm getting on my Macbook Pro. I will be in blog heaven with this machine and its respectable speakers.
The two complaints I have: The screen may be too glossy in sunlight. The fan noise is noticeable and turns on/off quite frequently.
Any recommendations for Chrome apps/extensions?!
Thoughts on the Oneplus One? It's massive.
