Clocking In

Do you have a great sense of time? Are you one of those people who can guess the current time and be spot on? Well if you are, good for you! I'll clock in on this topic: I am decent at sensing what time it is especially during my sleep. Every morning I wake up at 6:58AM on the dot, two minutes before my scary alarm (Yes, the alarm is so loud my mind developed a better sense of time while I sleep.)
Once my mornings get underway and I get to my computer at work, I observe one curious behavior everyday. This strange behavior is that my computer clock is always three to four minutes behind my Cisco phone clock. This daily phenomenon continues daily when the clocks become synchronized by lunch time. While I haven't really tried to see when the clocks become synchronized, it's a mystery that should be preserved and the magic will amaze me every morning. I like to think that my computer or my phone travels 88 mph in a DeLorean every night and goes back in time, which may be highly improbable.
And with the Olympians, timing may be everything. I think it's crazy that swimmers know how fast each lap should be within seconds especially to conserve enough energy for the end. This is also especially important since races can come down to one hundredth of a second. But think about it, maybe more than half of Olympic sports are against the clock. The clock is the worst enemy of those respective athletes. But the best part about these sports is that Time is always there, meaning you can practice/compete against the clock anytime you want. And since the Olympics are in London, all the athletes can say they are up against Big Ben! It may be easier than going against Parliament!
I'm so excited for track and field to start!
