Comeback Kid

After 7 long years, I am again a doubles tennis player on a team; let's call the team The Kekiongas. The team consists of four players that recently graduated high school, two middle aged players, a senior, and me; it's as diverse as the Mighty Ducks but assorted ages. Most of us met each other for the first time right before the matches started today.
I decided to join a USTA league team (3.0-3.5 league) as Marv simply couldn't satisfy my tennis needs and it would be a good way to meet other tennis players in the area. It's always pleasant to play different players especially those who have different playing styles.
So my doubles match began! Let's just say it was a rocky start... The first set was a bagel; for those not familiar, that's 0-6. After years of playing with people I was familiar/comfortable playing with, I was nervous about playing strangers which I haven't done since high school. When I do play with people, my warm up time was more longer. I was not ready for the pace of the doubles game since I've played mostly single the past 6 years; it's much harder to get in a good zone because of the lack of hitting at times.
After the feeling defeated from the bagel, I was ready to stop disappointing my partner who played well the entire match; so, I served out the first game of the second set to give us our first game. We played much better and started to notice our opponents' weaknesses; we won the second set 6-3. I thought there was going to be a third set and I was confident but nope, it was a super tiebreaker. We lost in the tiebreaker. But most importantly, The Kekiongas won the overall matchup 3-2!

To console myself, I went to the Burger King closest to my apartment to get my weekly Whopper (Whopper Wednesday!). But as life goes, I was in for a surprise. I drove to the drive-thru to order as I did the past year of so, but this time there was no menu or speaker to order from and from a quick inspection of the inside, all the cooking equipment were gone. Being a dedicated Whopper Wednesday goer, I drove to another Burger King (15 minutes of course, I'm still in Fort Wayne). It was as delectable as always!

One thing that has been annoying me the past week or so has been the concentrated amounts of cottonwood seeds in the air (not the dandelion (Taraxacum) seeds). It restricts me from driving with my windows and sunroof open (I don't want white fuzz in my car).
