Commencement Message

The time of the year has once again come upon us. Strenuous finals have been taken, the all-nighters are over, no more preparing for all the possible problems that the evil professor may give, and caffeine levels will finally go back to normal. Commencement all around the country's colleges and universities will occur.
And at each graduation ceremony, a honorary degree will be presented to someone you may or may not have heard of before. This person will try to give their best advice on how to change the world or how to live your life. This will come in from of a well prepared speech and since it's probably delivered from a person that has done significant work, you may be more likely to listen.
But the thing is, you've definitely heard the same message multiple times before, at other Commencements, videos of them, or just from the mass media. There is a reason most of the speeches are the same advice. Most of us have the aspirations to do good in this world but we don't all have to do in the way that is rewarded by honorary degrees or to even to make the evening news. You don't have to change millions of lives, change the way the world runs, or even make billions of dollars because not everyone will have the opportunities to do that, it is good enough to be the best family member you can be, serve in the community, or to be the CEO of a company. The thing is that is most important is to love what you do in life. I'm not only talking about your career because there will be times where you absolutely want to change careers and wished you went down a different path. There will be obstacles and burdening sections and that's to be expected. It's how you overcome those challenges. The effort you put into life will directly related to how you will evaluate yourself; always give your best effort and judgement.
Congratulations to the graduates of the Class of 2013. You've probably worked hard the previous 4, 6, 8, or more years. Savor the moment with your fellow classmates, friends, and family. This time may be bittersweet but even better times are to come.
