Conversations of the Day
Today's conversations didn't consist of your normal "How was your weekend?" or "Happy Monday!" discussion. Once in the a while, Daylight Savings Time ends on the same weekend as Halloween. Naturally, these two events dominated the conversations around the office.
It was great having that extra hour of sleep/activity on Sunday. For me, I just slept through it and I didn't really notice the day was a hour longer than others. Of course some people brought up the discussion whether Daylight Savings should even exist. Coming from Indiana, I've heard about how the Hoosier state shouldn't have conformed to the East coast by recognizing Daylight Savings.
For parents, Halloween tales of their kids and how their night went are all around. If you're lucky, you get a story about how their children attempts to eat more candy all the time. For those individuals that stayed in to pass out candy, the story goes along the lines of "I have tons of candy at home because there were barely any Trick or Treat'ers around." But as it turns out, people have realized that expensive cul-de-sacs are a gold mine for bring the children. So for those who live in one, expect hundreds of children and prepare with tons of candy.
If you haven't heard already, "Trunk or Treat" is real concept. It is when a community (sometimes from a church) plans on having trick or treat'ers going around a parking lot where trunks are decorated and candy/treats are passed out at the trunks. Back in my day, we had to go from house to house.
