Corduroys? Presents?

As the holiday season approaches, there tons of shopping around. Malls and shopping plaza are crowded with families buying presents for others. Whether those presents will be pleasantly surprise or slightly disappointment will be up to the recipient. Hopefully more of the first than the later.
Growing up, clothes seemed to be the worst presents of them all. And for some reason, clothes were the most common gift from relatives. This probably was for the best, as it eased the finances of buying clothes for the growing kids we were from my parents (I didn't really grow up much until sophomore year in high school, I'm a late bloomer as my family would say). As a little one, I always thought clothes were the easiest and most lazy present to get a kid; But if you really think, it's tough to buy clothes for kids. Getting the right size is crazy difficult, as they grow like crazy. Also as a result, there were many times where I didn't get to wear some gifts for a couple years (Maybe this is where my habit of letting clothes sit in my closet comes from).
As most people know, I had/have absolutely no sense of style (Particularly in the shoes department). So, clothes from relatives and such probably benefited me in the long run. I probably didn't embarrass myself as much as I could have if I picked out all my clothes. And if I did look terribly, I could simply blame the person who bought it for me and liberate myself from any of the blame. I remember clearly when I wore corduroys quite some time ago. To this day, I still wonder if I actually pulled them off or did I just look ridiculous (Please tell if you remember what you thought!).
