Cranston, RI

Cranston, Rhode Island. Area Code: 401. Zip Code: 02910.
That's the town I grew up in. The mid-west would probably call it a city since the density of Cranston is about 500/square mile more than Fort Wayne's. I called Cranston home for over 20 years and am very proud of it. While I know that places will change (no matter how much you want it to stay the same), it's impossible to how it will change. Like who could have expected a Little Caesar's to open up on Reservoir after the Little Casesar's on Post Road closed a long time ago.
I expect to see many differences from the last time I was here but I won't try to think of what was but to embrace the differences. One thing I hope didn't change is Del's Lemonade; it was/is amazing (Will see today). This morning I went for a run on the same route I ran years ago. It wasn't the same was three summers ago when I ran that route almost daily. While the cracked and unleveled sidewalks were the same, the feeling of being "home" faded away over time. It is mostly nostalgia at this point. I have said this plenty of times: it's not the stores/restaurants/amenities that makes a place great, it's the people that you share it with.
Another time I hope doesn't change is the infamous naked tree (More to come on this in a future post).
