Crest Allergy

Whenever I've been asked if I had any allergies by doctors, dentists, optometrists, and countless medical forms, I have always responded none. Until now, I haven't had any issues with any substance (well, besides alcohol... Severe Asian flush). This morning I was informed of my allergy; though it was self diagnosed.
As with you and majority of my readers (and everyone else), I brush my teeth every morning and night right from/to bed. A couple years ago, I switched to the Pro Health system from Crest since I'm extremely loyal to certain brands (like Wilson for tennis rackets); my family has been using Crest for as long as I can remember (my brother even had a colorful Crest cup in our bathroom for my entire childhood).
Since that switch, I've had this feeling of the skin inside my mouth was peeling like a snake. I thought this was the feeling of extremely clean dental hygiene; the toothpaste and mouthwash must have been doing its job by destroying all the bacteria. Turns out that I was completely incorrect in my assumption (you know what assuming does) and it's a feeling of harm (according to my friend's mother's dentist). The white slimy residue that the toothpaste/mouthwash left behind after usage was actually dead skin from outside lining my mouth (though it was never painful). This led to my self-diagnosis of allergy to stannous fluoride.
After a quick Internet search, I discovered that I was not alone. So, there you have it: The feeling of the lining of the mouth falling out after brushing your teeth isn't a feeling of supreme cleanliness; it can actually lead to other hygiene issues. I've decided to use Sensodyne Pronamel and I'll let you know if I continue to peel; I'm not sure if I can ever trust Crest ever again...
