Drawing Social Lines
It's natural that there are social lines. But some are easier to discover than others.
The first class in a plane have the curtain. While thin and see through, it still sends a unconscious signal that the two groups of people are not the same. But it makes sense that business class gets more room; just look at how uncomfortable their clothes look! I wonder why many of them don't change into something more comfortable and cooler (temperature) ...

While walking many cul de sacs in Indiana and elsewhere, I noticed something in common. There are "lines" between them. Often it's in the form of a fence but even more commonly, it's grass. You can see actual boundaries in the grass (e.g. Length, shade of green or brown). Some people don't care for it at all with crazy weeds, while others look like their grass can be at Wimbledon.
iPhone users often are put on their own social posture (maybe I say Apple users in general). Though, I never know whether to praise or be confused by people without a smartphone.
In college at UConn, it was obvious who was from Connecticut and who was from out-of-state. Colleges have a huge influence on how others perceive you and your social status; for better or for worse (probably mostly worse). How can someone judge you solely based on the school you attended? (Yet so many people it so often)
Then there is of course the lines that is natural drawn by religion. Much of this can be seen throughout the world on a daily basis.
So are these social lines good or bad? It probably varies from case to case. But they do offer the feeling of individuality yet being a part of something bigger than one person; this is not a positive nor a negative.
What are your thoughts on social lines?
