Drive or Fly
I never know whether to drive or fly to the east coast for the holidays. Flying is of course faster but it's also more prone to weather delays/cancelations. I fancy meeting other travelers and listening to what they have to say; what other place can you cross such diverse group of people especially during the holiday season. And the satisfaction of those pretzels and cup of Coke Cola is (almost) worth every penny spent on those airline tickets. And layovers are much more pleasant than the food/gas plazas on the roads. Flying is also safer than driving.
But driving has it's benefits too. The freedom of having my own transportation at my destination and being able to change up my travel schedule whenever I like. Driving for a few hours can be relaxing but 13 hours can get tedious. But I don't have to do the trip in one straight shot either; I can visit some event/attraction on a pitstop which I'm leaning towards.
Anyone have suggestions for something to visit that's between Indiana and Rhode Island on the weekend before Thanksgiving?
