Easter Questions

How did Easter become synonymous with the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Is it the Easter Bunny, Rabbit, or Hare?

Why was it decided that chicken eggs will be used and decorated?
Why isn't the Ascension of Jesus as celebrated as much as the resurrection?

Only if I had access to a historian or something that could possibly answer those questions for me...
