EEE (Eye Exam Experience)

Today was the day of my annual eye exam. An eye exam is always quite an experience for me. Being Asian always makes this a unique adventure. The first test was like a game, you see something and you push the button (similar to a hearing exam but with your vision). I definitely beat that game, probably got the high score. Next came the obstacles...
Anyone who's been to an eye exam knows about the dreaded Puff Test. A blast of air is shot right into your eye. If I ever had nightmares, this would be it. It takes me multiple tries to get this test done correctly. Today was the first time I was told to try to curl my eye lashes up because my lashes got in the way. This is where the tears begin. First of many eye watering moments.
After the assistant finishes the difficult tests, I saw the optometrist. Where he further makes me eyes water with his lenses and bright lights, telling me to look up, down, right, and finally to the left. Then came the whole "Is 1 or 2 better, 3 or 4 better...etc", lasting too long. Then, he does the color blindness test. As usual, I can only see one or so numbers of the bunch of colored circles. Then, I am sent back to the assistant to get my eye photos taken. Photos are usually where I shine! But not this one, it's why the assistant is doing this work. I have the same amount of difficulty as the puff test. But this time, it's an intense flash of light not an explosion of air. Only to blind me for a few seconds and tear me up like Air Bud did to me as a child. Then, the optometrist puts on a visor similar to Geordi La Forge. Only to make me tear up one last time with his bright lights and lenses.
Then, I continued to look for a new pair of glasses for me. I eventually ended up choosing the pair of glasses that the great (and cute, it helps...) receptionist/assistant helped me pick out. Per usual, I do not really care much how I look in them; guess we'll find out soon. Pictures to be up soon! (Not that you care, I'm very egotistical)
Well that's enough tearing up for the year. What a great eye exam though. I highly recommend Houston Pierce Optical to anyone! I can't wait for my next eye exam, what an adventure!
