Father's Day, Right?
Ahhh Father's Day. The only day of the year where you are pressured to determine if you are ready (and want) to become a father. Are you ready to give up your SINK (Single Income No Kids) or DINK (Dual Income No Kids) life? You could seriously retire much earlier or live a luxurious lifestyle without the expenses of a kid(s). You'll probably have to sacrifice spontaneous travel plans as any trip over 3 hours long tends to be an extravaganza.
Are coffee mugs' inscribed with "World's Greatest Dad" worth going through years of deprived sleep? I wonder if fathers have to fake a smile when they receive terrible gifts or if they are genuinely happy they this creature they've raised is finally showing appreciation (besides leaving waste in their diapers).
Assuming that we won't have autonomous cars by the time I have children in their teens, I can't wait to slam on the brakes and yell at them to stop fighting. I've been waiting for this moment all too long.
I have decided to teach my children the game of golf. I can wait to to see their frustration! It'll probably similar to:

While I can't remember this picture being taken, I can definitely see my father taking the photo while smiling at my misery.
Is it possible to truly be ready to become a father? Or do you just have to take the plunge and do it?
