First Date.

As I start actively thinking about actively looking to date (not really though) because of the numerous marriages and engagements that have occurred in recent weeks, I look at the concept of the first date. What exactly would I look for in a person that I could spend countless hours with? Of course there are qualities that you'll notice as the date goes like if they are a low talker, cat or dog person, iOS or Android (or something else like Windows), how they treat people, etc. Then, there are the information that you can find through their Facebook (oh! She likes Jurassic Park! That's a catch right there!).
But there some things that you may not find out during the first date but may turn out to be an instant deal breaker; these things can just be an issues (some can never be compromised) that will just arise in the future eventually. So I have come up with some things to talk about on the first to solve that problem. Disclaimer: Keep in mind, I've never been on a first date.
First things first: What have we always said is the most important thing? You will instantaneously know if this person is deserving of you from their response.
Since 1/3 of the day is spent sleeping for majority of people, ask about their sleep habits. If you have any future together, this will be crucial. Aspects include amount of sleep, movement, talking, position, side of the bed, and temperature.
Toilet Paper: Over or Under
How long do they leave dirty dishes in the sink?
Do they cook? Not because I want to be cooked on every night (I would not mind though), I rather not have to cook all the time.
Do they dance? In most cases, the response will not matter. Dancing is fun.
Can breakfast/cereal qualify as dinner? This seems to be a hot debate.
Have them describe their ideal vacation. Assuming you'll take vacations together, this could be something that surprises both partes.
Blood Type- It's similar to horoscopes, the zodiac, and the bagua, some people believe blood type can characterize a person. Just look at what the Japanese think. It's also important if the person can literally be able to give me her heart (or vice versa).
Do they like olives?
How they respond to your favorite joke. If it doesn't go well, you may never be able to tell that joke to anyone when they are around with someone scolding you.
Being a family man myself, it is important for me to be with someone that can be loved by my family. And the way to my family's heart has to be food. She would have to be willing to try things that Chinese-Americans eat (like delicious jellyfish).
What character does this person use in Mario Kart? Any response will give tons of details on the type of person they are.
Do they read MatthewTWHuang.com? If so, she/he is the one! If not, ask them why not? Remember, don't let friends go through life without reading this blog every week (if not daily).
Hopefully I had helped you in determining a proper mate. If not, I'm sorry.
