Flying Nimbus

It's been about 9 months since I got my Vibram toe shoes. And I'm finally getting to writing on how they are. Since then, I've ran in my Vibram shoes from August to probably October and I just started again this week. I've run in my Asics Gel-Nimbus 12 before my Vibrams and even ran in them a few times the past month (it's been too cold for toe shoes). I've had self-diagnosed shin splits ever since I can remember (since middle school) and they never dissipated. The main reason I got the Asics Gel-Nimbus 12 and the Vibrams was that they supposedly helped relive shin splits; the Asics' name certainly didn't hurt.
Every time I've run with the Vibram shoes, I have never had an issue with shin splints; it was a miracle unlike the Nimbus 12 which seemed to actually increase the pain from shin splits (or the lack of pain; numbness). When I run with the Vibram toe shoes, I feel it in my calves like I expect to; maybe I just don't have the correct technique of running with other shoes. In any case, I found the Vibram Bikila toe shoes to be a great running shoe for me. I would recommend anyone with shin splints to try these since they've helped me (remember your calves/ankles will probably be sore after the first run). It will definitely feel awkward at first and people will judge you.
