Four Years
Four years ago, I moved into my first apartment in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Now, four years later, I'm just a few buildings down in the very same apartment complex. So, you can say that not much has changed. The majority of the furniture I had four years ago is the same furniture in my current apartment with a couple additions given by some awesome friends. I have a couple more Star Wars Lego sets as decoration.
Today I had my interim review at work. As always, I received great (positive) feedback from my manager about my performance. While I'm not a big fan of boasting, it's delightful to hear it from another person (and indirect evaluations from others). It's not difficult to lose sight of all the accomplishments when time flies by and busy getting things done.
Losing sight of growth in life, personally and professionally, can be easy when you think of it at an high enough level, like living in the same apartment complex at one point and at another point in my life. You lose all those details that add all the meaning in the middle. There were months where I lived with two great friends and another that lived a few buildings away. There were so many firsts, expected and unexpected, in between the four year span. With my experiences, I've developed skills and gained confidence. Good thing I have this blog to remind me what I've done!
It seemed like just yesterday I brought Electra home...
