Google Maps Obsession

One of the most useful applications on my phone is definitely Google Maps. Whether for directions, finding places to visit (made even easier with the new explore button), or even to just to see where I am.
One of the most annoying things about Google Maps is when the place to want to go to is in a dense location and the place marker is on the street, sometimes no where near the actual landmark/building. Even worse, you go to a place that has been closed or the hours of operation differed from what was displayed on Google Maps. The automation can only go so far so it's in the hands of its users to update/correct the map. Most businesses realize it's important for their success to have correct information/location/hours listed in Google Maps.

So lately, I've been going through Google Maps and correcting and updating places on there.... It's turned into hobby or even an obsession. Most of the time, I'm just updating the location to add increased accuracy. The entire report process crazy simple; you just go to the place and click "Report a problem". You can update most of the information (including if the place is closed), but it's annoying that the hours of operation cannot be reported.
Why not spend a few seconds to contribute more accurate information that may help others in the future? User generated information is one of the major aspects that has made the Internet so useful; just look at Wikipedia's success.
