Handshakes
So I've always expressed the importance of a good handshake. It's one of the things on leaving a good first impression. And most times it's the last impression you give off to someone too. At least personally, I do enjoy a strong firm handshake. Personally I don't like giving informal handshakes or giving daps. Even with friends and such, I usually go with the formal handshake. I'm usually very neutral about the fist bump though (Sometimes I enjoy doing a hard fist bump to see the person's reaction, I'm sure I'm not the only one)
But then you have unique handshakes. These shakes have meaning and emotion. A special bond between close individuals where only a selection few or just one other person know about this special ritual. I'm sure you have had such a thing with someone. It's just a unexplainable feeling. Most of the time is short and sweet. The longer ones always seem to bother me, it seems like they tried to hard. It must feel natural.
Going with the hype of Jeremy Lin, the Harvard graduate now on the New York Knicks, Lin and Landry Fields (A Stanford grad) have a little handshake of their own (Just a little handshake symbolizing the great education institutions they went to):
Remember when he exploded for 30 against UConn? I do but UConn still got the W.
