Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! This weekend isn't about the Indianapolis 500, shopping sales (It's sad how commercial it has become), or even barbeques with friends and family. It's to honor the great men and women that died serving this country. But the military hasn't just served this great nation of ours but many other parts of this world, fighting for the freedom of others.
Is one day enough to honor these heroes? Of course not. One of my favorite aspects of any sporting or celebratory event is the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner. The sight of everyone giving respect to our country and the ones who defend it is amazing and heart-warming. It simply does not get old. I don't know what others think about during the national anthem but every time I hear that wonderful song, I remind myself how lucky I am to be living in a free country where anyone can express themselves freely. I pay my respects to everyone serving or has served this country in order to maintain the rights that America stands for.
Working at Raytheon, I'm constantly reminded of the importance of the quality assurance of the product we produce. Everything we do is to protect the soldiers that will be using the product. In a world that we live in now (Mostly run on greed), it is nice to see a change on a daily basis that it isn't always all about money. And what would money do if you didn't have the freedom to spend it?
While it is great to have a day off from work to honor the military, be mindful that they are men and women serving this country and countries around this Earth everyday.
