Happy Mother's Day!

More and more friends are becoming parents. I think I've found the reason behind it all: they are all selfish and want to another national day to celebrate themselves and have those around them celebrate too. Or they are worried about the US' fertility rate which is about an all-time low and just want to help the country out. Maybe those parents are in so much debt from higher education costs that they might as all double down on their finances on children.
The decision to become a parent isn't a simple one. It is one that potentially results in sacrifices of other dreams including traveling the world or even early retirement. But being a parent and raising children is one of the noblest of acts.

I can't even imagine what it must it been like for my parents to come to a whole new country to start a family. The courage of facing the unknown for the potential of living out the American dream for my siblings and me. But it wasn't just the courage that raised us, it was their determination and hard-work. It was a family effort; while my parents work for the money, my grandmother took care of us at home. The rest of my family, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, provided their time and effort with tons of support as well.
Happy Mother's Day! Thanks to my mother who will probably never know about his. To this day my mother calls me to check up on me and making sure I'm eating. I thought gifting was tough in general but it is nearly impossible to find any gift for my mother.
