Holidays
So in a few weeks, I plan on going back to the Northeast again for family during the holidays. It seems like just a couple days ago I was driving back to Fort Wayne from Thanksgiving. Only if Thanksgiving was moved to September. I'm once again in the dilemma of driving or flying. And just like last year, I'm not sure what my plans for New Years is.
And without plans, it's difficult to purchase airline tickets...
While attempting to decide on the dates of my future travel (and in the past), I encountered an impasse with myself. I never know whether I should spend the holidays in the Northeast or in Indiana. I assume the decision to spend time with your family or your significant other's family is quite similar to my dilemma.
This Thanksgiving was different than years past since both my siblings spent dinner with their significant others' family. Is it selfish of me to want to have both my siblings at the Thanksgiving Hot Pot table? Change is bound to occur. So many questions come to mind like how far into a relationship before you spend family holidays together or when do you start taking over the holidays from your parents?
While Thanksgiving and Christmas is a uncomplicated decision to spend the days with my family, New Years is not. New Years is more of a "couples" holiday more than anything else (especially at midnight). I wish I could start the new year with all my friends and family; that would be ideal situation. Too bad that's nearly impossible. Tough decisions to make in the immediate future...
In other news, the McRib is back!
