How Long is Too Long for a Commute?

Ask yourself, what is the longest time you'll commute for your job? How much time are you spending on the road to your job now?

I've been fortunate to have had no longer than a 15 minute commute to work (That's how much time it takes to get anywhere in Fort Wayne); that's 2.5 hours/week maximum into and out of work. Actually, if you include traveling to another site as a commute, I've had a commute that has lasted over 24 hours... But sometimes I get a beautiful sight on the way:

But I know plenty of people that commute over a hour one way... That's over 10 hours/week! I know you can listen to podcasts, NPR, or audiobooks on the way but that's a good amount of time on the road... Definitely too much for me. I feel that my life is already busy and barely have any time or energy to cook; I don't know how people with such lengthy commutes have time to do everything! Maybe I've just been spoiled by my short commutes...

Commutes will definitely be shortened and more enjoyable when autonomous vehicles are mainstream... I can't wait for that day to come.
