I don't hate skiing anymore
Yesterday I went skiing with some good friends. The previously three or so attempts at skiing didn't go so well and left a terrible impression of the activity. I hated it. I couldn't find the confidence of maneuvering the slopes since I couldn't control my speed. It didn't help that I don't like high speeds.
Yesterday was a totally positive experience unlike the ones before it. I'm not sure what was the most significant differ. It could be that this ski resort had smaller hills to gain the confidence and fundamental skills. This place wasn't nearly as crowded as the previous places so I didn't feel the need to be overly cautious. I didn't use skiing poles this time so I could concentrate on what my legs should be doing (this probably made a larger effect than it sounds). One of my friends was skiing for the first time so I had someone to improve ski skills with and didn't feel that I was preventing others from doing larger slopes. This changed skiing for me.
So how many tries do you give something before you officially hate it and stop attempting to change your opinion? Is there even a number or should one be open for change?
