i.e./e.g. Annoyances

i.e. - id est
e.g. - exempli gratia
It's frustrating when those two are used interchangeably. "i.e." basically reads "that is", while "e.g." reads "for example". Examples: You're currently reading the best site in existent (i.e. MatthewTWHuang.com).
There are many sites that you should read on a daily basis (e.g. MatthewTWHuang.com)
The Oatmeal did an eggcellent job explaining the usage difference too.
Now, you are more aware and can join me in being annoyed when they are being used incorrectly. This is just one example of improper usages in grammar that bother me; others include: You're/Your, They're/Their/There, My/Mine, Affect/Effect, Then/Than, To/Two/Too, Compliment/Complement, Its/It's, Know/No, and something I've been known to misuse: Further/Farther (by accident of course). I will think lesser of you if you mistakenly use any of these incorrectly.
You're probably thinking, "TW, you have no right to write about poor grammar!" That's your opinion, I guess. If you find any misusage from me, please correct me; I will not find it rude/disrespectful.
