Jolly Thoughts

As I ate my Jolly Ranchers Popsicle by colorful layers, I began to think. I started to wonder if I was missing out on something what most people would experience if they ate the same delectable sugary treat? Do other people experience a more vast range of color than I do? As some people know, I am red-green color blind. So I don't see some of the numbers in the colorful circles at eye exams that you probably speed through. I am often perplexed by what most people see. Does the world look totally different? Does the celebration of Christmas with its endless amounts of red and green look dull to me because of my color perceptive issues or is it simply dull?
Growing up with this color blindness is tough. Especially because I was a perpetual liar. But when I told my teacher I couldn't tell the different between the color of the numbers, they never believed me and waited until I answered and probably embarrassed myself to the entire class. To be honest, at that time, I thought that my teacher was trying deceive me because I did not know of my color deficiencies. To this day, whenever I tell someone about my color blindness, most people respond with "What does the color of Red/Green look like to you?" or finds the closest object that is red or green and asks what color it is. You cannot be serious!
With that said, everyone is probably wondering what the joke on the popsicle stick was.
