Life Changer

Sometimes life throws something that will make you rethink how you live. Today, I received an "exclusive" invitation (hefty in weight and fancy in quality) to apply for the Visa Black Card; it even included an oversized Black Card that added almost zero value besides blackcard.com.

Yes, I even threw in a normal sized banana for comparison. Receiving this invite has me rethinking how much money I've spent on my other credit cards! Not really... this offer has probably been sent to numerous people in hope that some of them will sign up. At $495/year, this luxury stainless steel card probably isn't worth it for an average soul like me, even with the 25,000 bonus points when you spend $1500 without the first 90 days. This card doesn't even have a Smart Chip!
While this mailing probably won't be life-changing, has your life ever been effected by something seemingly insignificant? Like having had a bad experience with Cheerios with milk once and refusing to eat Cheerios unless absolutely necessary. Or someone teaching you how to peel a banana the correct way (from the bottom). Or the thought that I can never get a futon because just maybe it will scare any woman from my apartment because one conversation about it. Maybe you had a stranger tell you had a beautiful smile and two awesome thumbs during your insecure teenage years and it did wonders for your confidence (leading to years and years of smiling and thumbs up).
