Life Changer: TV Setting- HDMI-CEC
It's not often one will write about a TV setting, but I must tell my readers this one:
HDMI-CEC or High-Definition Multimedia Interface Consumer Electronics Control. But TV manufacturers have called it all sorts of things.
To keep it simple, it allows your HDMI-CEC device(s) to communicate with your TV. One of the best functionalities is that it allows your TV to automatically switch a particular input when a HDMI-CEC enabled device is used (and turns on your TV if it's off). A common HDMI-CEC capable device is the Google Chromecast. Often, HDMI-CEC is turned off by default on TVs (including my Vizio).
This setting is going to change my life. I no longer have to find my TV remote, turn on my TV, and switch the input to HDMI-2 to Chromecast my podcasts/music.
This link explains it in more detail including what TV manufacturers call HDMI-CEC.
