Louis-ville
Nothing like watching the biggest fireworks display in North America for the second consecutive year. Once again, we attended Thunder Over Louisville. After much experiences with fireworks, I've learned that the convenience of cameras have ruined it for viewers. Instead of viewing at fireworks directly, many are watching through a lens of a camera on a LCD/LED display. The rest of us are left to deal with the displays and flashes lightening up the atmosphere around. I understand the desire to the moment but taking pictures every second is a tad bit obsessive especially with flash on (because it definitely helps). So let's watch fireworks with a deeper appreciation and share the moment more with the ones actually there. (As you can see, I took no photos of the fireworks or else I would have posted it here)
So the past weekend was the third time going to Louisville and I am still part of the small minority to pronounce it as Louis-ville. I think the city takes pride in the number of pronunciations it holds.

What else is in the beautiful city of Louisville? Well, of course the Kentucky Derby at Church Hill Downs (Thunder Over Louisville is the start of the celebration for that). And that's only coming up in a a couple of weeks!

For baseball fans, the infamous makers of the Louisville Slugger baseball bats, Hillerich & Bradsby, are located in Louisville. The museum is located there and I saw Deter Jeter!

And there are many bats and plate plaques located all around downtown Louisville like shown below with my free miniature Louisville Slugger.

It is quite an interesting city that I plan on exploring in more depth in the future. How can a city no be awesome if it has penguins on top of a hotel?!
