Memorial Day Weekend- Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
Memorial Day weekend! Just like every other holiday, everyone seems to bombard each other with "Any plans for the weekend?" When I reply with no, I feel like judge me or feel sorry for me. They, of course, have plans of their own...

While I don't do much pre-planning, I really do enjoy having the freedom of being a bachelor and being able to be completely spontaneous. For example, this morning I decided to go to Indiana's National Park, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore; it is just about two hours away. Surprisingly, I haven't been there yet.
And it was everything I expected and more! The scenery was captivating and beautiful. Hiking in the Dunes was tougher than expected especially on steep climbs on loose sand. But the way down the sandy dunes is plain fun and such a soothing activity. It was still spectacular even though the popular destination, Mount Baldy, was closed (and has been since the child incident). I even got to see the Chicago skyline!
