I Played A Full Game of Monopoly

A true classic board game. Monopoly. A game of chance and skill. More skills can be taught ranging from counting money to negotiating. Every household seems to have different rules. Do you auction properties if someone doesn't purchase it? Do fines go in the middle of the board until it it is given to the person who lands on "Free Parking"? Is a player required to roll again after rolling a double?
But putting the great game aside, when was the last time you played with every player committed to playing a full game until EVERYONE but one is bankrupted? Up to last night, every Monopoly game ended in people wrecking the board and/or just forfeiting in defeat. A group of four of us did something unprecedented: We played an intense game of Monopoly for over 4 hours with only bathroom pauses and extremely limited cell phone use. It was a heart wrenching game with a decent number of trades. At the end of the game, it may have been advantageous to go to jail and unfortunate if you rolled a double (we forced players to roll again); it was a war of nutrition.
It was a deeply competitive (and stressful) game with some aggressive conversational exchange but it was fair and played respectively. And each player was focused on the game till only one player, Hearthstone, remained standing. The four hours flew by and it was such an amazing time; it was unlike any other board game experience since everyone was so dedicated to the game without interruptions/bad endings.
