Moving On: Fort Wayne, IN

It's been one heck of a ride, Fort Wayne. I came in not knowing a single soul and now I left with plenty of lifetime friends I met there. I must admit, I stayed much longer than I had expected; this was probably an ongoing joke for my friends. (The fact that my movers delayed made it even more hilarious) There have been moments I will cherish forever and plan on repeat those stories numerous times in the future.

Life didn't want me to leave the Fort easily. First, delaying my move by a day by having terrible movers. Then, I was on record pace to reach RI... Until I hit Connecticut... Massive construction was being done on I95 which delayed me at least a hour. Though, Google saved me 24 minutes by avoiding one section of construction. Just as I hit my hometown of Cranston, I get a flat tire. Needless to say, the move from Fort Wayne was not an easy one.
What have I learned?
Raytheon Fort Wayne hired a group of individuals that clicked instantly. But unfortunately, the combination of work and desire for more from life just couldn't retain the young employees. Hiring is hard. Though, I think that Raytheon is secretly developing a matchmaking system and has been deploying it without employee consent; there were countless successful relationships at the site.
Everyone has different goals in life and will go about it in distinct ways. But what can be said by anyone is surround yourself with people who you think are better than yourself.
Fort Wayne will be missed. For those who made my time Fort Wayne so great, I want to say thank you. I will most certainly keep up with you. The small city of Fort Wayne will always be a special place in our hearts.
"I wish I could say this was a story about how I got on the bus a boy and got off a man more cynical, hardened, and mature and shit. But that’s not true. The truth is I got on the bus a boy. And I never got off the bus. I still haven’t..."
