Mr. A-Z

Last night I had the opportunity to attend a Jason Mraz concert. I discovered this immediately looking up tour dates for Jason Mraz after writing the blog post about it. The event, A Rare Acoustic Evening: Jason Mraz and Very Special Guests, Raining Jane”, was to be held at Ball State University located in Jerry Gergich's favorite vacation place, Muncie, IN. Ball State University's campus was very nice looking and the Emens Auditorium was a decent concert hall.
Jason Mraz started the night with a personal introduction saying hi to the crowd while eating an apple. This just reenforced how levelheaded he is. Then, Raining Jane came out to open with a few enjoyable songs. The stage was plain and simple with uncomplicated lighting. It was later explained that this was a "demo" for their upcoming tour since his next album has yet to be completed and the official tour was delayed. Jason Mraz came on promptly after Raining Jane singing "You and I Both". Then it was a mixture of his hits, some comedic songs, and of course new songs that I would expect to be on the next album. Raining Jane joined Jason Mraz for majority of the concert and were definitely an integral aspect of the experience.
As for the performance, it was as good as expected. I enjoyed the atmosphere since it was more on the quiet side and not constant screaming from the crowd. The aspects of the new songs seemed to hit on the importance of nature, humanity, and, of course, love.
