Music Tech

With tablets becoming more popular, I have been thinking of ways it may be able to be used differently. Growing up as a musician, I had to deal with tons of sheet music, whether they were photocopied or from a book. All those sheets of music are probably in the basement of my parents' house, many of them in binders in plastic sheets. All those cripple binders with folded plastic sheets, some of which contain drill sheets for marching band.
So how can technology change all of this? For marching band, no more dot books will be needed to be made since everyone have cell phones, resulting in my practice time. And with tablets, there is really no need to have paper sheet music, since you can just make adjustments to the digital copy. In the simplest way, it can behave as a sheet of music at a time with a swipe changing the page.
But think of what technology can improve on paper. Practicing alone can be exponentially better by having the tablet "conduct" for you at tempos you will be able to adjust. Practicing as a band can also be improved by having everyone's tablet sync with the conductor's, so no one will get confused/lost and the conductor can point out certain parts more easily. And universally adjustments can be made to the sheet music easily since it is digital. Since most tablets have microphones, page turns can be eliminated with decent software. Personal recording can also be made through the microphone so personal critiques can be made.
The possibilities are endless!
