My First 14er
What's a 14er? Peaks of mountains that rise more than 14,000 feet above sea level.
For those in the Northeast familiar with Mount Washington, that's 6289 feet above sea level.

I climbed my first 14er with the New Yorker in Colorado. The first being Mount Democrat. It was definitely tough getting used to the thin air in such high altitudes. I immediately realized it was going to be difficult when walking to the the trailhead... I was already out of breathe before it even started (it could be that I'm out of shape but I like to think it was the altitude). I was looking up the altitude of Indiana... (nice to see results inline of suggestions)

I had slight headaches for periods of time during the hike (probably due to the lack of food). Dressing for the hike was tough with high winds, cool air, and bright sunshine; thankfully, it did not rain while we were there.

I don't want to be "That Blogger" but I can't even begin to describe my first experience with 14ers. It was definitely something unique, particularly of the company and the trail (or the lack of) we went on. I'll definitely tell you of the hike in person if you want! Just ask!
But I will say: The New Yorker is a beast!
