My World 2.0

Sometimes, I just feel like I want to be in my own little world. I know many of my school teachers thought I was in my own little planet most of the time. They were probably right to assume that too because I was probably thinking about other things like stars and other planets. I got really good at being in my own mindset. Then, the invention of headphones and the iPod came about.
With my first mp3 player being a mini disc player, I could be in my own world without being distracted by the outside world with my Sony MDR-EX56 noise isolating headphones. It's weird how $30 seemed to take forever to save up being a teenager. I was the kid that always had headphones on or close by. I needed that distraction for those quiet times. This was all before I realized that quietness can feel great. Nothing better than listening to The Killers, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Kanye West, and etc. Thanks to my sister because she bought me a 80GB iPod 5G.

While I reduced the amount of time I had headphones on in college, I often had one of my iPod's (At this point, I had a 5G, Nano (RIP after 2 washes), Touch, and shuffle). Walking from my dorm to classes was much more peaceful with music on. I can avoid eavesdropping on other people's conversations, silence the people who thinks it's awesome to make their cars as loud as possible (You're not racing on campus!), and most importantly avoid the people protesting or handing useless papers on campus. But with my Sennheiser CX300 usually, I was able to walk/scoot up to Hilltop Apartments in absolute peace with Miley Cyrus' "The Climb"! I would not have it any other way.
Now, headphones are still key to my sanity. Sometimes conversations are too loud and the isolation headphones are necessary. It allows me to concentrate on my own work without being distracted by outside conversation. As years before, I run with headphones (My Shure E2C) to pace myself to the music. It's one of the tools I use to push my body, grooving to the beat of Lil' Wayne, Drake, and Mr. West. And with the Shure's, I can wrap it behind my ears and has a cord that allows you to tighten it so the movement doesn't bother me. At home, I love using my Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 and closed headphones Audio Technica M-50's (Pictured Above). Listening to high quality music (FLAC), makes it so easy to enter a different world. John Williams' various movie soundtracks are incredible, I can listen to it all day. Jurassic Park is definitely my favorite.

P.S. Yes, I do enjoy headphones! Realize how I did not include Apple headphones in this post, they don't deserve to be. You can call me a headphone snob as much as you want. But once you put the Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10's on, you never want to go back. The bad thing about those headphones is that it doesn't lose quality with volume so blasting music is way too easy.
