Newest Member of Team Jordan

So Michael Jordan turned 49 years old just over a week ago. I'm sure most people reading this know who Jordan is, probably most known as a minor league baseball player, of course. Maybe others know him as the actor in the movie, Space Jam. But a smaller number probably know him as a terrific basketball player.
But in all seriousness, Michael Jordan and Nike have created a global brand. The Jordan brand logo (The Jumpman) is easily as recognizable as the Nike swoosh itself. It's pretty incredible how Jordan's dominance of the game has such a lasting impact on the game and the brand. The Nike has created such a demand for these shoes. So much so that riots have been initiated by the demand of shoes. Yes, think about it, people are paying hundreds (Maybe thousands?) and fighting for shoes. This was come so far that even basketball games have included these shoes (And certain shoes give extra points in attributes). All of this was created by the talent and skill of one player.
The Jordan Brand has spread into other sports. The brand has made such a impact that it's spreading outside of the NBA. Naturally, the brand evolved into the college game with teams like Georgetown and of course UNC (Where Jordan played college ball) adopting the brand. Team Jordan has hit many sports like baseball (Derek Jeter), football (Andre Johnson, Dwight Freeney, Charles Woodson), boxing (Roy Jones Jr.), and even Nascar (Denny Hamlin). It says so much about the brand; that it is synonymous with the most elite group of athletes. The brand has even expanded outside of sports to the entertainment business with the addition of people like Nelly, Spike Lee, and Eminem.
Last week, I gave into the hype and bought my first pair of Air Jordan's. I did not buy the shoes as a fashion statement as most others have though. I plan on playing basketball with them since I don't own a pair of basketball shoes (and the fact they are designed for basketball).
I do plan and expect to be play like Michael Jordan with my new pair of Air Jordan's. Anything short of that, I will be disappointed.
P.S. They should make bowling shoes. I know I would immediately buy those, great looking bowling shoes are hard to come by.
