No Pressure!

As celebration of National Engineers Week, there is a Family Feud tournament at the my workplace. As crazy how long the show has been on air; it's been off and on multiple times since 1976. It's no Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy! in terms of game show greatness though; both shows have been cancelled and renewed multiple times too. Did you know Pat Sajak, the successor to the original host Chuck Wooley, was chosen by Merv Griffin (Creator of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!); Chuck refused to tape the show without Pat even though NBC's President and CEO disliked him? Good thing too, since Wheel of Fortune is the longest running syndicated tv show in US history. Alex Trebek may be the coolest Canadian ever (though he is a naturalized US citizen).
But back to Family Feud, I never watched it regularly or really that often. I don't think the show is as big as it once was; maybe because it doesn't seem very reasonable. It's not that the survey results seem skewed (they probably are) but it shows that families still do things together in the present day! (That doesn't happen anymore!) Though, one can say it is definitely possible since it's for money and money is the number one priority for many people (so sad!).
The hosts of the show always seemed so memorable like Louie Anderson (Louie Anderson), Richard Karn (Al Borland), John O'Hurley (J. Peterman), and now Steve Hurley (Mr. Hightower). All of them have interesting personalities and recognizable voices (especially Louie Anderson). Today, our host was a fellow employee and he was decent for no experience. And the game commenced, "The Girls from B3" against "No Pressure!"
To give the background of each team:
"The Girls from B3" is a team formed from females from the third floor of Building B.
"No Pressure!" was formed by me. An email was sent out to form a team but the New Yorker backstabbed me by forming "The Five Brothas" team (Real creative, New Yorker). Being competitive, that fueled my fire and I picked up my recruiting. "No Pressure!" assembled and the team may be the favorite in the tournament (Got a first round bye). Why the team name? Well, you know how I'm so nonchalant about if I win or lose games? That's where the name came off... (joke)
So it was on! The first question, "What items do you use in the mornings?" Team "No Pressure!" wins the face-off with the fifth most common answer, "Alarm", for four points. Then, the team chooses to play! Toothbrush, Shower, Shampoo... "Good Answer!" was yelled after each answer... All strikes. "The Girls from B3" stole all four points with "Coffee Maker" and took the lead! Then, "No Pressure!" took the 153-4 lead by winning the next two rounds! Eventually my team, "No Pressure!" won with the final score 425-202 and was onto the Championship Game on Thursday! Woot!
While the ultimate goal is to win the Championship, it would be sweet revenge if we beat The New Yorker's "The Five Brothas" team in the final matchup. Let's hope they remain undefeated and win tomorrow.
