One Year. One Country.
While on a walk with two friends, I heard one of the most incredible ideas. The conversation was determining which one of us have visited the most states. By the end of it, I think we named all the states by one; the one being Oklahoma. I "won" the challenge with over 35 states.
So what was the magnificent idea? (You may have figured it out from the well made title of this post) Well, it's common for people to want to visit all fifty states of the United States in their lifetime. But one friend mentioned how when he was younger, he wanted to go to each state for a week for an entire year. I found myself dumbfounded by the simple yet stunning concept. This would be a fantastic trip that will allow us to discover what makes every state unique, from its culture, landmarks, cuisine, sports, and, of course, the people.
We also have thought about involving residents of each state. This may include have hosts from each state or having a poll to decide what is the "must-do" thing for the state. It would be extraordinary to have people that influenced the state to show us around their state.
But a major huddle would be funding it. After some thought and conversation, we thought we could possibly involve sponsors throughout this entire trip to reduce the cost of the trip for us. But we would want sponsors that align with our objectives and not impede with the trip too much. For example, Nike would be an amazing sponsor with all the hiking, running, golfing, tennis, and other physical activities we would be doing throughout the trip; and this is not even mentioning the numerous sporting events we will attend. Other possible sponsors may include (but not limited to): Telsa, Google (Car, Street View, Glass, Project Loon, etc), Canon, Intel, Samsung, Clif Bar, Planters, and even travel magazines.
There might be possibility that we may try to raise funds for charity throughout the trip. The charity will most likely be related to something dear to our hearts and is critical in everybody's lives: Education.
There will be months upon months of planning.
50 States. 50 Weeks. 1 Country. 1 Experience.
I want to do it.
