Our Mark
It is interesting how the internet is going to affect our lives. My good friend, Brendan, and I spoke about how we're the first generation to have our lives be recorded on the internet. Everything we do can be easily be put on the internet. With Google and Facebook allowing users to export their data, it's so simple to just go back into your history and see your life through silly status, unrecognizable people in pictures, and wall posts containing mostly "Happy Birthday"'s from people you haven't talked to in years.
Now, you don't need other people to make you feel important anymore. People can easily record their lives through pictures, blogs, videos, and anything else out there, giving you that great feeling of sharing. Our mark in history in the future is going to be huge amounts of data. All the news, sports, people, music, movies, and everything that has to do with our lives. Hopefully it'll be easier to sort than it is now. As I see it now, there's so much information but there are multiple sources for the same thing. Wikipedia is a great start though. Will people in the future laugh at how our internet is right now? Probably, but we laugh at ourselves with the geocities sites we made, the crazy custom myspace pages, and even those crazy AOL accounts (Nevermind the crazy amounts of CDs they sent out).
I'm excited to see how the internet evolves, with unlimited possibilities.
