Ow!

Last Saturday something extremely terrible happened. Of course everyone knows it was Saint Patrick's Day. Unlike a numerous number of people around the world, I didn't have any issues with alcohol. It happened while chewing gum. Unknowingly, it would change my life for at least a week. Then the accident occurred, I went to chomp down on my gum but then I got more than I expected (That doesn't happen very often).
I crushed the left side of my tongue. I know everyone has experienced this unfortunate event. But this time it was unlike the others. Usually I bite my tongue with the molar teeth, making it more of just pressure on the tongue. Last Saturday, I bit down hastily with my canine teeth. For those who don't know, my canine teeth are as sharp as a saber tooth tiger's teeth. As a result, I basically pierced my tongue.
Then, to add to the night, I accidentally bit the inside of my lip. What a dreadful night for my mouth!
It's not the immediate effects that make the experience unpleasant. It's after a day or two where the tenderness of the bites comes into play. Every meal will be met with discomfort. Any piece of food that lands on the affected areas from the chomp will cause slight misery. And every time I look at the areas in the mirror, I wonder how such a small pothole on my tongue and inside lip can cause such massive amounts of aggravation. I know I'm not the only one to think that.
But I will have to wait till my mouth heals. Isn't the tongue supposed to be the strongest muscle in the human body? I can't wait to munch on meals without any torture! I will come out of this experience stronger and never take eating without discomfort for granted ever again! No more Whopper Wednesdays will be ruined by mis-biting!
